Believable/Sympathetic Character: Daniel, Second son of the deceased and has to not deal with the cost of the funeral, but is also constantly living in the shadow of, Robert, his successful brother, and is trying to purchase a flat with his significant other
Urgent & Difficult Problem: Complications with the funeral arise, including the arrival of Peter, the lover of Edward, the deceased, who comes round asking for money
Attempts to Overcome Problem: Daniel and Robert try to pay off Peter, but after Peter insults Daniel’s effort to follow in Robert’s success, Daniel, in a bit of rage, tears up the cheque, and in order to stop Peter from revealing his relationship with his dad, accidentally feeds him with four doses of strong hallucinogenics, which leads to him hitting his head on a glass table
Final Chance/Last Stand: The brothers decide to hide the body within their father’s coffin, and let the two be buried together, without anybody else knowing. Daniel then finally tries to give his eulogy, but when Peter comes to, resulting in his and Edward’s relationship becoming public, everyone goes nuts
Resolution: With everything going wrong, Daniel finally gives his eulogy, everyone ends up laughing, and going home, all drained and finally having had the funeral, the movie ends on a comedic note, with one of the characters ending up starkers on top of the roof, after ingesting the same hallucinogenic
